One of the things about going back to revise my resume is that I have an opportunity to find (hopefully) coherence through time.  

I started with language through writing and photography; a love of poetry and history led me to philosophy of language and how we create and share meaning.  The study of composition in the UIUC School of Music led me to cybernetics, thinking about how we compose music, speech, and everyday gestures both within, and supporting, the world as it is.

“The world as it is” comes from both biological computing as well as Wittgenstein.  I have been fortunate to have peers and mentors who have always kept me learning.
